Exactly four years on from the 2012 Paralympics, Parallel London created an unforgettable day out at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park bringing together everyone from across the UK in a national celebration of inclusion and diversity. Andrew Douglass CEO of Innovision and founder of Parallel London asked Pongathon to create a special ping pong experience for everyone attending this very unique occasion.
Participants took part in five very different fun push/run challenges. All ages. All abilities. No cut-off times. People ran, walked, wheeled, pushed and everything in between. Parallel London showcased the very best accessible attractions and entertainment across technology, art and culture, food and drink, health and fitness and of course...... Ping Pong!
The Pongathon team were honoured to take part in this incredible experience and of course share the joy of ping pong with everyone. We created a unique game for the day called 'Olympic Ring Pong' featuring multi-coloured point scoring targets for ping pong balls to be hit, thrown or bounced into. It was a huge success and we are hoping to be invited back next year!
Without doubt, Pongathon was one of the highlights at the Parallel Festival. Inclusive ping pong rocked and as ever, Ade and the team brought a wonderful innovative twist to getting active
